Trading isn’t easy.
Done right it can be profitable, but it is hard to do correctly. Not only do you have to internalize and understand chart reading, stock history, etc…
It’s just hard mentally. Most people want to do the exact opposite of what you should do.
For example, when most people are in a losing position they want to hold on to recover their money. In case you haven’t figured it out, the market is very unforgiving to these people.
On the other hand, when in a winning position they want to take profits too early rather than letting it run. There is a time to get out – but most people have a hard time waiting.
On top of these knee-jerk reactions, trading is also hard because it is lonely.
That works for me because I am very introverted. I can be as social as anyone else in the right situation, but I am very happy living by myself and not seeing anyone for days on end.
Most people are not like that. Most people want to have regular interactions with others. More importantly, regular interaction with people they can discuss areas of interest with.
In other words, traders want to talk with other traders. Compare notes. Discuss trading ideas. Share stories.
Feel understood.
