Sometimes You Just Need to Go For it…

a stock market investor looking at a giant stock market chart

She said,  “I wish you’d asked sooner, Steve.  But I assumed you weren’t interested…”

They were some of the most devastating words I had ever heard at 17!

If you have been here very long, you likely know that I loved surfing as a kid.

I once fell and broke my neck, and ended up in a halo for months…

That had a significant impact on the rest of my life.  However, that’s not what I want to talk about today.

Today I want to share a story of love lost (maybe) and how it helped me to achieve everything I have in my life.

The summer I turned 17, a group of us spent all day every day hanging out at the beach.

Surfing, flirting with girls, playing volleyball…

If you could do it at the beach we did!

It was a fantastic summer, the kind you never forget…

Not only because it was great but because I made a monumental mistake.

My group wasn’t the only group of teens that were at the beach 6 or 7 days a week.  Eventually, we started recognizing each other and spending time together.

At one point, one of the guys from another group of kids, with who I had struck up a friendship with, came up to me and told me about an 18-year-old girl he hung out with that had a crush on me.

I had noticed her too, ‘cause frankly, she looked great in a bikini!

Anyway, he suggested I ask her out.

I spent 2 weeks getting the courage up to ask her, and by the time I did, she had already started dating someone else.

She said something like, “I wish you’d asked sooner, Steve.  But I assumed you weren’t interested so I started dating <whatever the guy’s name was>

I don’t remember her name, but I do remember what she looked like in a bikini!

And I remember thinking I would NEVER hesitate to do something I wanted to do again.

It’s how I became one of the youngest members of the New York Stock Exchange at 23, it’s how I became a market maker on the CBOE, it’s how I became a journalist with TheStreet.com…

In short, just going for it is how I have accomplished everything I have done in my life.

Not foolishly or impulsively taking risks…

But deciding what I wanted to do, then doing without hesitation.

It has served me well over the years.

So I have a question for you.  Do you want to know how to trade options successfully?

If you answered yes, don’t hesitate…
